Members of a British MiTT teach Iraqi soldiers helicopter drills near Basrah city

For many of the soldiers it was the first time on a helicopter

Canon EOS 400D
Sigma 18-200EX

1/1600 @ f3.5
ISO 800 - (i won't lie, this was a mistake, my nose/cheeck has a habit of hitting the ISO button and setting it one up or down. it was surposed to be at 400 :p )

Training Day by ~R3ality66 makes you feel like covering your face against the dust that's kicked up from the helicopter and you're feeling like you're sitting at the edge of your seat getting ready to run towards it. ( Featured by `evanhwong )

amazing shot, im joining after summer, but how do you get to be an army photographer? ive looked at the site and they said you had to at least be an NCO, do you sign up?

I'm not actually employed as a photographer in the army, although i have looked a little into transferring. as far as i know though you may be correct in one manor, in that you almost definitely have to have been in the army a little while already, weather or not you have to have been promoted to a Junior NCO rank before you can transfer i couldn't say. All i know is that the trade is part of the Royal Logistics Corps (RLC), the training course is around 1 year long, there are fairly few spaces and promotion is slow. however if its something you enjoy then theres no substitute and very few other jobs which offer such wide opportunities to take great photo's!
